Oil Change and 25 Point Vehicle Inspection
Because we are concerned about our clients safety, we at ACE Car Care provide our customers with a 25 point inspection whenever vehicles are brought in for oil change. This inspection covers brakes, engine noise, lights, electrics, exterior condition, fluid levels, exhaust, steering, suspension battery condition, drive shafts, wheels tires and much more!
1. Quick oil change

2. Check your windshield
We’ll make sure your windshield is clear of any cracks obstructions. We’ll also check if your wipers are properly working, as well as the defroster
3. Check air filter
This should also be changed once a year or about every 15 thousand miles.
4. Check transmission fluid level & condition
One good indicator of transmission fluid condition is color. Red is good brown is bad.
5. Inspect belts for cracking, fraying & wear
It is recommended that hoses are replaced every four years. V-belts should be replaced every three years or 36,000 miles. The chance of failure goes up after the third year for belts and fourth year of service for hoses The serpentine belt lasts about 50,000 before increased chance of failure
6. Check engine coolant level & condition
The difference between good and bad coolant can’t be seen with the untrained eye. If you do determine that coolant is contaminated too late, the system can be damaged and adding new coolant will not help.
7. Inspect condition of radiator hoses
A radiator hose in poor condition can feel either very hard, very soft. A Faulty hose must be replaced
8. Inspect for coolant leaks, radiator, surge tank & water pump
A hole in your radiator can be the cause of coolant leaks. Corrosion of your radiator tubes can also create a leak.
9. Inspect windshield washer operation & fluid level
We’ll make sure you have washer fluid as well.
10. Check your mirrors
Make sure your vehicle doesn’t have any cracked, chipped or missing mirrors.
11. Check brake pedal for proper travel
Excessive brake pedal travel can be dangerous. Worn brake lining, or misadjusted brake drums can be a cause of this issue.
12. Inspect operation of air conditioning & heating system

13. Inspect brake pads & shoes for wear and/or contamination
To pass the VA safety inspection, brake pads must be more than 2/32 of an inch thick.
14. Check your dashboard for any warning lights
We’ll check for any lights that indicate hazard. If your check engine light is on, your vehicle may pass VA safety inspection but could be a sign of costly issues in the future.
15. Listen for any unusual noises
We’ll listen for anything that seems out of the ordinary, and will notify you of anything of concern.
16. Inspect C.V. boots. (front wheel drive cars)

17. Visual check of shock absorbers/struts
Shocks and struts are simple devices that dampen the movement of springs, suspension and vehicle pitch. For the most part, suspension works best with smooth weight transfers and the suspension is not compressed on the bump stops.
18. Inspect condition of exhaust system
It’s important to periodically check your exhaust. Symptoms of a bad exhaust include a noticeable drop in gas mileage and possible stalling.
19. Visually inspect undercarriage/check for signs of leakage/damage
The undercarriage of your car should be inspected frequently by certified technicians. This area is highly susceptible to damage from road conditions and debris.
20. Inspect tires for proper inflation & wear patterns
We’ll make sure you have proper tread on your tires and if their low on air pressure we’ll fill them up.
21. Visually inspect gas tank for leaks
Gas leaks can happen because of road debris and sharp objects like rocks or cement.
22. Visually inspect oil pan for leaks
The same can can happen to the oil pan
23. Check battery
We’ll check your battery and clear out any corrosion. We’ll even replace your car battery if needed.
24. Check your horn
We’ll even honk that horn and make the sound isn't muffled.
25. Check your lights
We’ll make sure all of your lights work, this includes; headlights, backlights, reverse lights, marker lights, brake lights, turn signals and tag lights. We want to ensure your pass Virginia state inspection!!
